Of course they're not. It's in the name of beingh disruptive, and
duping folks into jumping on the acb legislative bandwagon. Let's
call it what it is.
About a week ago, I asked why we were hearing nothing else since the
original posting on the 16th. I drew a little flame mail over it, but
I still maintain I don't take my course of action guidance from ACb
leadership.
Mister Gashel does a fine job of getting the word out and calling out
the troops when it's necessary. I will say at least Andy identifies
the posts appropriately.
To others I would say this. When my original message asking about
this went out to this list, it was forwarded to the blind-fam list. I
do not read that list, and did not carbon it to that list, as it isn't
germane to anything but this list, as this is above all things a list
for discussion of NFB issues and programs.
that's why we support it monetarily, and why it's here.
The only blindness-related listservs I'm on besides nfb-talk and
blindtlk (both sponsored by NFBnet, is the midi-mag list, as so far
it's the only game in town for discussing issues relating to blind
folks in the music and audio professions. For those kind of
discussions, politics can be put aside, as there's information to be
gained there, and our music division does not yet have a listserv
going. When it does, I'll probably bid adieu to the folks at the
acb's list.
When it comes to legislative issues, I'll take my
cues from our man on the scene who has been there.
Jim knows the politics from close-up observation, which I don't. I'm
a musician and audio engineer, don';t have time or liking for
political stuff and legalese mumbo jumbo. I take interest only as
it's the thing to do for a concerned citizen.
On lesilative issues dealing with blindness, though, our leaders
consider the needs and desires of the membership. To iimplement those
when it comes to legislative and governmental matters, we have Jim on
the scene. He does his job quite well.
The philosophies of the two organizations differ on many issues. I do
not give money, time or credence to the ACb philosophy, and therefore
do not follow its lead on legislative matters. I do not read the
Forum, nor any other publication of ACB. I have no desire to either.
When we need to spend our
political Currency, I'm sure Jim will be shouting it from the
rooftops, here and any other appropriate place. I can only wonder how
many were possibly duped into following the ACb
strategy on this issue because of the postings here.
TO the good readers here, all I can say is: Consider the motivation
behind the ACb postings here before you use any material they contain.
Consider which organization you joined, and why.
