VH>And that is how I accept Catholicism -- as a positive choice,
VH>not a negative one.

None of the Apostles rejected Judaism until after Jesus died and
resurrected from the dead.

>>Faith is a positive act -- a selection and adherence to a doctrine. It is

>>No sir faith is not always a positive act. Faith can be a
>>negative act and we have seen it. The nazis had faith in hitler.

VH>That's called refication -- the search for truth through the definition of
VH>words. We do not define words after we accept them, and look for the facts
VH>they "conceal." We accept a defintion a priori (an
operational definition)
VH>use that consistently.

And the way we define words are often wrong. Not only that, but the
meanings of words change over time.

VH>The choice of a religious faith, or a wife, through love, is a
VH>positive act. is not related to other acts.

David Koresh and the Branch Davidians thought what they did was a very
positive act. Jim Jones and the Temple thought what they did was a very
positive act. Whether it be death by fire or death by kool-aid, all
acts are related to other acts regardless of what others believe.

>>The 911 bombers thought they had faith in what Allah

>>it or not there are certain CHOICES one has to make.

VH>How does that FORCE me to reject each and every one of a billion
VH>women when choosing my wife? :-)

It never stopped Wilt Chamberlain. :)

>>You either
>>accept it or not hence rejecting it. Yes your examples are
>>wonderful philosphical questions that can hurt peoples brains
>>however there are countless examples out there that require u to
>>either accept or reject something.

VH>There are examples of a lot of things -- but the simple fact is, I am a
VH>Catholic not by weighing it against other choices and rejecting them, but by
VH>accepting positively.

Brainwashing works wonders. The Cuban people accept Fidel Castro and
his brand of Communism because the only thing they have to compare it to
is the far worse regime of Batista.

>>When it comes to faith in Islam we will be judged
>>accordingly to how we recieved the message and how much we know
>>and Allah Suphantallah knows best regarding this.

VH>And there you have proved my point -- God or Allah does not expect us
VH>to arrive at His worship through negativism, but through positive
VH>choices.

Then why did Jesus turn around and walk away from the Temple, thus
rejecting Judaism? Matthew 24:1-2.
