Local police and other idiots... this sounds like the Winn-Dixie jerk who
called the police when someone started spanking their misbehaving kid in
the store.

The sad truth is that minimum wage jobs tend to get minimum intelligence
workers. I wonder what the story was by the time it got to the police?

Ah... yes, it got twisted:

Another one of those "screwed if you do, screwed if you don't'
things... hopefully the Staples clerk gets fired. Because buying or
inquiring about software in an office supply store is not an unusual item.
