| subject: | Re: Saddam _is_ a PoW after all |
From: Phil Payne > What was there to think about? There was a war. He was the leader of the > armed forces. He has been taken prisoner. It means he cannot now be tried. Any such trial would be INCREDIBLY embarrassing for the USA - after all, the defendant has the opportunity to speak out. And his crimes - such as they be - do not involve the USA. He never attacked or supported any attacks on the USA. He in fact did absolutely nothing against the USA or its interests. I find the moves these past few days interesting. First it's official that there are no WMD. Then it's official that there were no WMD. Then it's official that he wasn't in cahoots with Al Quaeda, which was obvious to anything with the intellect of a sea slug right from the beginning. Then it's official that Syria wasn't involved. Then Saddam is now a PoW. Then British inmates of Guantanamo are to be sent home - but the British Government turns down the implied conditions and wants them home unconditionally. And then the alert status goes to yellow. The administration is in reverse gear. And has its foot on the gas. There's an agenda behind this, and it looks suspiciously to me like Saddam's being rehabilitated - perhaps to resume power? He's probably the only person who could achieve a government by 30 June. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
