Hi I have Visual Basic 6.0 enterprise edition, but have only wrote
some simple code examples from a beginner's book.
I would like to read an SPI A/D converter (Maxim's MAX1280) but using
my PCs Parallel port.
I need to send out three 8-bit words and simultaneously read back in
three 8-bit words.

It can be as simple as three windows that I can enter the hex or
binary (or decimal) numbers to be sent out and another three windows
for the returned data. Then just a button to start the transfer.

Does anyone have something like this?
Or do they know of anything similar? Perhaps one word at a time?

I have searched the web and the closest that I could find was very
complex and difficult for a beginner to modify.
