Hello again, Wayne. Here's one final attempt at trying to help you about DIMMS for your HP Celeron 433 machine - - You told Roy J. Tellason about - - WC> The DIMM's on sale were of the wrong type :-( WC> Well one sale item was PC133 and I can't use them and the other was WC> 256 Meg per stick and this machine only takes 2 x's 128 sticks. See other msg about whether you may be able to use PC133. The sales in Sunday paper here were - - OfficeMax - K-Byte 128MB PC133 for Tax plus $27 out the door, minus $12 Mfgr rebate minus $10 OfficeMax rebate = $5 A/R. Staples - K-Byte 256MB PC133 for Tax plus $40 out the door, minus $30 mfgr rebate = $10 A/R. But, that was a Sun/Mon two-day sale, and I think they're charging more now. OfficeMax is a bit of a prob for you there in Saint Pete - their nearest store is in Sarasota, and they don't have the "free delivery for orders over $50" extending up to where you are. Based on what I saw today at OfficeMax website, that $5 deal is still good, but you would have to pay shipping to get it sent to you. I think their FL shipping center is in Miami, and since DIMMS don't weigh much, maybe a couple bucks for shipping. But since we know that Staples carries K-Byte, and that they have a "price match" policy, there may still be some hope for you down at or close to that $5 point as offered by OfficeMax. The thing not very clear at Staples website about their pricematch policy is how they work in the rebates offered by others. So if you go to OfficeMax website and get all the info, or make a copy of their ad from Sunday's paper and take that with you - - I'd recommend, depending on how close the store is, that you visit or call your nearby Staples, and talk only to the manager, and explore that "PriceMatch" thing with them. If they refuse to get close to the OfficeMax deal, you could still order from OfficeMax and pay whatever they charge for shipping. WC> All in all I think I'll look for a similar used machine WC> like the H.P. I saw in local classifieds for 200 bucks WC> with 128 meg RAM, 8 Gig drive, Pentium 3 and SVGA! Careful about those - sounds borderline on the old too-good-to-be-true thing. Good luck - - - JimH. ...
