Hello, Wayne. I overheard you and Roy talking about - -

WC> The DIMM's on sale were of the wrong type :-(
RJT> Wrong type? Jeez... What type were they, and what did you need
 RJT> instead?

WC> Well one sale item was PC133 and I can't use them and the other was

WC> Also I need to pull a stick and check out what's printed on them.
WC> I think CompUSA has PC100 sticks that are compatable
WC> for 40 dollars new and that appeals though I'll still
WC> pull a stick and haul it up there in an antistatic bag
WC> to see if the keys on the bottom of the stick match.

OK, a good idea to get a look at what's in there now. FWIW, I don't
think the keying notch shifts for voltage and buf/unbuf will be entering
into it - I think almost beyond a shadow of doubt that your Celeron 433
board will be using 3.3v, unbuffered DIMMS. But - -

Noooo. Please don't spend $40 dollars just yet - - I think that
_doesn't_ appeal. Why do you think you can use PC100 but say you can't
use PC133 in there? You can ignore my previously posted advice if you
want to, but here's what they had to say about that at the
Crucial/Micron website - -

  Should I buy a PC100 module or a PC133 module?
If your PC has a 133MHz front side bus (FSB), you will need PC133
  SDRAM.

If your PC has a 100MHz FSB, you can use PC100 or PC133 SDRAM. All
PCs that accept PC100 SDRAM will also accept PC133 SDRAM; however,
your memory will only run as fast as the slowest "link" in your
system. If you have a 100MHz FSB or any PC100 modules installed, any
PC133 modules that you install will only operate at 100MHz.

PC133 SDRAM doesn't offer any immediate benefit over PC100 SDRAM if
you have a 100MHz FSB. However, if you are planning to upgrade to a
system with a 133MHz FSB in the future, you may be able to use the
PC133 modules you purchase now in your future system.

I still recommend you buy PC133, Wayne, for the above reason, even
though your current Celeron 433 system has 66MHz FSB I still say the
PC133 should work in there.

Plz also see other msg, and good luck - - - JimH.
