Before we take this one any further, let's see if it might not be
time to remount, reload, call a time-out, & drop-back-10-&-get-
ready-to-punt. :) (May help also to take another look at my
_original_ message to all on this, since it involves considerably
more than just one episode, & they're all interconnected. )
If you'll note here, though, I wasn't "dismissing" *any* episode,
now, was I?
MM>alleged "warp 10 is infinate speed" rule has never been stated in
MM>screen, as far as I can recall. I can cite two other episodes in
MM>Warp 10 was exceeded.
My guess is both of which are ones I addressed in that original
"all" post; if it's rolled out of the queue & you can't locate it,
I'd be more than happy to repost it if need be, since I have it
saved as a textfile. :)
MM>What episode said that warp 10 cannot be exceeded? With all respect, I
MM>don't believe you can cite such an episode. Since you are listing
"With all respect" don't forget that I've never *said*
W10 was infinite speed. As we all know, at the inception
of TNG, GR set the proverbial "W10" as an unreachable maximum as
one of the most basic of the core ground rules for TNG's "reality."
It's only been relatively recently that some folks (note again that
that doesn't include the old man here ) have said that means W10
= infinite speed.
MM>rules of thumb, things that have been on the screen *do* overrule ideas
MM>that have never been seen on-screen.
And of course when the on-screen conflicts (reference re-read of
para 1 above ), there's A Problem. }:)
