On the contrary, certain elements of the "spitting in the faces of
the fans" sect use the few fan-created elements which have appeared in
"canon" Trek as justification for their vehement demands that P'Mount/
TPTB recognize, utilize and never, ever, EVER contradict anything
written by "fandom," regardless of how internally or externally
contradictory any of that fandom material might be. Oh well...
