In a message dated 02-2197, David Noon said to John Buck Jr:
DN>The other possibilty could be an IOPL problem. If an OS/2 device driver
DN>has "virtualized" an I/O port and refuses to support the use of I/O
DN>hardware instructions from within a VDM then this could be the result.
DN>What kind of devices does this program use? In particular, what kind of
DN>devices not supported by the BIOS does it use?
Well.... there, you have me! I haven't the slightest idea, so, I've passed
your message on to another fellow who is more versed in this sort of thing
than I am.... he is going to "look it up" - and hopefully, I will be able
to answer your question soon..... I do appreciate your help. I think
we'll figure this out one day... but I have the feeling it's going to be an
obscure sort of problem!!!
I KNEW I should have paid more attention when I was in school !! :)
