Hello Jim -

JH> Heck, every time us searchers and learners get about up to
JH> speed, there's a big bump in the road and things have
JH> changed.

Hardware compatibility/incompatibility is one area that cries
out for a database to retain this information with some
semblance of order to it. Even computer manuf seem to make
little to no effort to enter this information into a database
and regularly toss out scehmatics and other information after 3
years.

I noticed long ago that even those who desperately _need_ a
database seldom set one up and many who start a database do not
keep it up to date after a short time. It's boring, I realize
this, but it's really really needed.

JH> Less than a year ago, I bought a SOYO Dragon Plus mainboard
JH> with VIA KT266A chipset, an Athlon 1.4GHz chip and some
JH> PC2100 DDR memory to go in it. Now all of that is about
JH> obsolete. :-(.

The search for excellence has never been well served by retail.
;-)
