Ha owners manual, that's a laugh, reminds me of when I first saw an
RD-350 motorcycle and the thing had "kickstarter" embossed on the
side cover. Like if you didn't know what it was you any business
riding it. Don't know about the PC133 RAM though as I've seen some stuff
to make me leery of that in this machine. COMP USA has RAM available
for 40 dollars x's 2 ='s 256 Meg which made me check the paper for used
finding a later model H.P. Pavilion running Pentium 3 for 200
bucks, 128 Meg RAM, momitor and 8 Gig drive!
If I'd had the 200 I'd have snapped it up, next month I'll see what
is available. Going to dump Verizon as my ISP in the next 45 days and
save half price. Right now I'm fairly comfortable with what I've
got except need a UPS. Likely try snagging an old PC to upgrade the
NEC as well. I'll try surfing for Office Max today and see what's
what, IIRC they're owmed by Office Depot and perhaps deliver to those
locations? Supported max RAM for the H.P. is 2 x's 128 but that's
about all the manual says about the DIMMS.

Staples is close and I'll check on them via the net but my back is as
far out as it's ever been so I'm not venturing out today.
Thanks for all the help and tech advice. I hadn't thought there
were still as many really good sources left in Fido.
