PC> Ars Nova - Transi
PC> Very well done in the ELP power trio style. Was not impressed
PC> with what little I heard from the first one but this sounds fine.
CR>Stuart and I saw them girls live. Twas quite an interesting site to
CR>see these little Japanese girls with bows in their hair blowing the
CR>roof off the place. They were good, but the music got pretty
CR>repetitious after 30 minutes or so. I still don't hear the ELP
CR>influence that everyone else hears.
Well, the format is one thing thay have in common with ELP. The
classical themes are another. The power is also something they
share. The loud keyboard sounds are also ELP inspired. So, I
at least the style has something to do with ELP.
CR> PC> Hoyry-Kone - Hyonteisia voi rakasta
CR> PC> Without any doubt, one of the best recent releases I have heard.
CR> PC> Song by song they can be compared with just about anything but
CR> PC> as a whole, this release is one of a kind. Simply superb !
CR>Yup. This is quite a dandy.
You know, I have a bit of trouble finding people half as enthusiastic
about this one as I am. I was (and still am) blown away by this one.
CR> PC> Deus Ex Machina - Diacronie Metronomiche
CR>They were the fastest and best (meaning they made no mistakes -- or
CR>at least not that you could tell) band I've ever seen or heard. That
CR>stuff they do in the studio sounds a bit held-back compared to what
CR>they did on stage. It seemed effortless to them too. Incredible and
CR>really too much for me. I was exhausted when the set was over.
CR>Awesome.
Yeah, I heard that they were very intense live - as if they weren't
on disc. Still, I don't find this live disc to be that far off the
studio material. In fact, its excellent sound quality I find suspicious
at times. Maybe it's because, as you say, they make so little mistakes.
Cheers,
Paul C.
