JS>I'd still like to be able to cycle 3" rounds, but there are some pretty
JS>hot 2 3/4" ones out there that haven't let me down yet. Then again, I
JS>don't hunt with steel shot... :-/
DA>I forget, do you reload for 12 ga? If you don't have Lyman #3
JS>Still no. I go over and pull the level on one of Terry's MECs a few
JS>hundred times when i need ammo, but he sets everything up.
Get a Lyman #4 Shotshell manual. $20 list, about $16 at gun
shows. If you see #3 manual in a store or at a show, offer $5
for it. If not, there's a coupon in the back of #4 to buy #3 for
$5.
Read over the buckshot and slug/roundball sections. Mark the
ones that look interesting, and see if your friend can get the
components for them.
Blue Dot is the main powder for magnum birdshot, and many of the
buckshot/slug/round-ball loads.
If you have a drill press, a jig to hold the shell, and the
Lyman roll crimp tool, you can load without a shotshell press, if
Terry sets you up with resized/reprimed hulls.
For low volume, the Lee Load-All II has served me well. Less than
$40.
