| subject: | Crystal Reports - Repeati |
Hello -
I am using Crystal Reports 10 for the first time in an attempt to
populate a report template with information from an SQL database. I
am having trouble getting the form to "populate" the way that I'd
like. For example, let's say I have created three details sections so
that I can have a text box of unknown size that does not write over
information below when the database field returns long text strings.
Two of the three sections should retrieve only one result from the
database; however, the third section retrieves any number of results
from the database. (As a simple example, say I have three data
fields: day, project, and workers. For any given day and project, I
might have 1, 5, 7, 10, etc workers).
When I preview the report, I get a repeat of the entire report body
(up to the number of "workers" for the day & project). I do not want
all of the information duplicated. What I want is to have some
sections return only single values and some sections return multiple
field values (all together) which meet my query criteria.
Is this possible? I.e., can I have details section a return its
information fully, then details section b return its information
fully, then details c, etc?
