That would be easily doable with Level sensiors already i nsome
cartridges. 
some also Try to Intimidate by putting in bold print i nthe Manual that
using anything other than a GentuieXXX Cartridge will VOID the Warranty.
the same statement is also used for use of Refilled Cartridges.
Perples experience varies but I have generaly found that the OEM
supplies can be better overall.
