| subject: | `Frozen` DLL forms |
We have a VB6 class module contained within a DLL. One method of this
class shows one of a number of modal forms (internal to the DLL). This
method is called from a modal form in the host application.
Everything is fine and dandy if the host app and DLL are run together
as a project group in the VB6 IDE. However, once I run using the
compiled DLL, the form displayed from the DLL is 'frozen' i.e. it
accepts no mouse or keyboard input. The form is successfully shown and
appears to have focus (blue title bar). It also appears to be modal (I
cannot click on the host app forms). The only way to close the DLL
form is to hit Alt+F4...
The DLL form also operates normally if the class method is called from
a modeless form in a host app. However, the intended host has to use a
modal form.
I am running on a Win2000 platform if that bears any relevance. Any
help or advice would be much appreciated.
