If both were as you described than both would be equally irrational. There
is no more basis for following the voices in your head created by the
interaction of various chemicals in your brain and nothing more than
anything else. Since atheists don't believe in god the only basis for
those voices in your head would be electrical signals, software
programming, chemical reactions in your brain, etc. Allowing the mixing
together of chemicals in your brain or the emission of electrical impulses
to persuade you that something is or isn't intrinsically immoral is
completely irrational. Maybe we should just mix some chemicals together in
a glass and hook it up to a 9 volt battery and devine therefrom what is
moral. Would certainly be just as valid as an atheist following the voices
in his head.
