   And just as an aside, someone once did a study of memory, getting
people to fill out "Where were you when you heard that the Challenger
had blown up?" questionnaires the day after the Challenger Disaster,
then hunting them down three years later and getting them to fill it
out again. After that relatively short time, a shocking 25% remembered
an event that did not have *any* points of similarity with the
original. They remembered doing something different, somewhere
different, with someone different. And they were all convinced that
they still remembered the event as clearly and accurately as if it
were yesterday.
