Hi, Dieter. DM> -=> Quoting Frank Malcolm to Squalid <=- DM> FM> AUST_BIZ DM> FM> -!- DM> FM> þ 4u2c * þ USES DOS,CRT,MOUSE,RAM,C:,PRN,VGA,EGA,ELECTRICITY DM> FM> -!- DM> FM> ! Origin: Pedants Inc. Mine started playing up a few weeks ago, would randomly go into a power-on sequence and spit out the test page. Then it totally shat its memory and reset the pages printed from ~2000 back to 1. Finally on Thursday (with Caroline's school assignment due) it gave up entirely and won't print. Anything. Except the test page with the // lines. The power-on test sequence (flashing power light) is unusually short and no sample page is produced. The last few randomly produced sample pages before the final problem showed it communicating at 538,977,664 baud. Let's hope I can still get that speed when it's fixed! Any clues? Presumably some NVRAM has lost its guts. Might try and find a battery in the innards and remove it for a few hours. Who fixes them? That company you mentioned when I was seeking a manual? Remind me... Regards, FIM. * * Socialism: Diagonally parked in a parallel universe. @EOT: ---* Origin: Pedants Inc. (3:711/934.24) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
