From: "Gary Britt"
Believers are not irrational or illogical in thinking the voices in their
head can mean something, because they can believe those voices come from
God and not just merely chemical reactions in their brains and glitches in
their programming. Note that this is true whether or not God really exists
or not.
Atheists on the other hand say there is no god and therefore voices in
their heads can only be chemicals and impulses. It is simply not rational
for an Atheist to think these voices have any meaning worthy of anything
more than divining morality from mixing cow liver with euphoric acid and
hooking it up to a 9 volt.
We are discussing the rationality and logic of following or believing in
that inner conscience. Believers have a rational basis for so doing (God's
existence in fact is irrelevant to this), but atheists have no rational
basis for believing in an inner conscience because to an atheist inner
conscience would be nothing more mystical than passing some methane after a
good meal.
Cheers,
Gary
