I have seriously considered dropping cable for dish in the past.  The one
positive with cable is that they carry multiple affiliates of most of
the broadcasts networks as our city is right between two major Kentucky
markets (Louisville & Lexington).  The dish networks only carry one, so
you are somewhat "captive" if the one they choose to carry desides not
to carry programming for whatever reason (the stations around here do
that regularly).

I can get most of the stations by antenna, however.  Although the picture
is not near as good, that may influence my decision.
