Nice to hear back from you, Janice!
RM> Homeschooling gives her alot of time to do the things
 RM> she's interested in.
RM> when we take our animals to the vet. They are really
RM> great and they let Erika help examine the pets and she gets to ask alot

RM> becomes 16 she can go work for them and that's what
RM> she's working toward. Even though she's only 11, she
Yes, we appreciate the real life advantage of homeschooling too. My 12 year
old daughter has been studying the flute, and wants to play professionally.
She already has the skills to teach music - I know because she's been
teaching me. Being available during the day makes it possible to do real
life things, as well. For instance, when my friend who owns a restaurant was
out of town, we volunteered to help out; my eldest learned to run the cash
register, and my youngest helped with kitchen chores, table clearing and the
like. I find that many professionals are happy to help educate our kids.
When my husband took the girls with him to the eye doctor, he asked why they
weren't in school - my husband replied that since they were homeschooled,
they were "in school"; a field trip to the eye doctor! They got a tour of all
his medical equipment and free eye exams.
RM> does. Have you ever seen dogs jump on a trampoline? my
RM> dogs do! Arizona gives the homeschoolers here alot of
RM> support and they also give us alot of freedom to teach
RM> what we want. nice talking with you. Write again soon
We have a trampoline, but I've never seen dogs jump on it! We used to have a
cat who'd climb the ladder and slide down the slide, however! We just have
one cat now, she's a Mighty Hunter and thinks she's the Queen of all Cats.
Washington is also very homeschool friendly. It's great to have the freedom
to let our kids pursue their interests and learn in their own ways at their
own pace. If your daughter wants to chat with mine, she's welcome to leave a
message for Amber Loranger.
I'd love to hear from you again when you have the time! -LL
