Hi Paul,
         thanks for that. I'll give it a go and see how much slower
it is. I hadn't thought of skipping the fixed headers (Bob's a
dickhead). The first time I read it one message at a time, I had to
wade through the 02 00's in your net number, and it got pretty 
complicated.
