I'm afraid I don't understand how adaptive answer can, in the absence of
fax CNG tones, screw up a data call, especially since it's only happening
with my Courier, and nobody else's. Your logs will indicate yet another
failed call earlier today, so I have just flashed the modem with the
earlier 0123 SDL in case that makes any difference. The aftercall stats
for those failed calls shows extremely poor S/N ratios (around 22db), but
this could simply be a symptomatic result, rather than the actual cause.

It would be extremely useful to have a complete and detailed list of all
fax result codes, too. Might have to add this to the Courier wish-list as
well (along with an SDL which has been optionally coded for Class 2 fax).

DD> My Courier seems to connect perfectly well with everyone else.

You'll recall that I suggested the problem may have been temperature
related? Well, I no longer believe this to be true, as the modem had been
powered-up for several hours before I called this morning, yet it still
failed to connect the first time. Oh well, with a bit of luck, reverting
to the 0123 SDL may help.

Regards, Bill
