My son tricked me into taking care of a little female kitten
and I was curious what type of cat she was. I checked on the
Internet and was reading all these horribly painful things that
can kill a purebred cat. I found the kitten. She is an American
Long-Hair also referred to as a 'tabby cat'. A mongrel in other
words. The upside is it said "No known genetic diseases". 

The guy who invented the transistor was trying to sell this
theory to the general population for awhile that if we would
inter-marry we could breed out all the inherited genetic
diseases that kill so many people. They almost stoned him but I
suspect he was right it may be the only way to get rid of some
of the worst of them.
