Nimrod is a converted comet which is an airliner which is a type of large
transport a/c.
Very little need for "true" bombers these days. Most efficient
platform is some well used, easy to get spares etc for transport (e.g. a
boeing 7x7 or an Airbus A3xx) with some sort of bomb bay / missile/drone
deployment capability & reasonable sensors
Can even be used to do drogue in flight refueling.
