JE:-
In the end selective forces have to
become mutualised. Because it suits us
not to have any mosquitos around at all
does not mean that it suits nature.
The more we attempt to remake nature
just to suit ourselves the more nature fights
back on behalf of non mutualised species.
Like all wars, such a fight is not worth the
cost. Slowly but surely we are learning that
we are only one part of an mutualised ecosystem
that requires the Darwinian total fitness of every
selectee within it to be selected to increase
and not decrease. We should expect more and
more invasions of excessive human populations
with deadly infections like AIDS viruses as we
make ecological war on nature forcing an absolute
fitness loss on unwanted species that are selected
to hit back.
