Actually they aren't that big.
nematode, (nŠm´e-tod´) member of a phylum (Nematoda) that
comprises the roundworms. Nematodes live in the water or soil. Many
species, such as pinworms and hookworms, are parasites of plants and
animals, including humans. Some parasitic nematodes are used as
biological pesticides to control insect pests.

Yes, the light could be so much less now then when the tomatoes
were getting 10 hours or so of sunlight during the summer months.
The heat is also a factor because we don't keep our homes as hot
as it can be in summer outdoors. Mites? Never had o deal with
them. Good luck.
