You seem to have forgotten the Intel platform ! A complete 
D/Vision Pro system (capable of either 3/4" on-line quality or 
creation of EDLs in a variety of professional formats) can cost 
well under $15K new with a 9Gb drive!
I assume one can find a good 3-chip camera for the remaining $5K 
and not have to deal with anything used...
