GC> Hello T!
GC>
GC> Saturday August 10 1996, T Owen babbled to Greg Cobb:
GC>
GC> -> The Crown Macro series are great amps. There are better sounding amps
GC> -> out there, but not at those power levels; you just can't beat the
GC> -> value of those beasts!
GC>
GC> Many or most of the shows I've worked have used Crown, except for the
Moody
GC> Blues here in Memphis where they had about 40 Carvers and Claire. The
Barb
GC> Madrell show tomorrow is supposed to be rather large. I'm anxious to see
w
GC> they bring in for that.
GC> -> Any *comparable* cabinet will set him back just as much as the
urbos.
GC> -> My choice would be Meyer, but who can afford those? Take care.

I saw the Moody Blues in concert this summer (I believe it was late June),
nd
they were using Crown Macro 1200 amps. They must've switched over to Crown
recently, I suppose. Unfortunately, I was in the lawn seats, (It's an
utdoor
shell arena), and the sound sucked because the 2 big speaker pylons were hung
inside, set up for the best sound at the mixing booth, 2/3 of the way back in
the middle of the shell. I really wish I'd spent the extra $9 for indoor
tickets. That would've been really great.
