...on that 386 machine in the other room.
I've gotten to the other cd this time, the "bonus pack" stuff. No problems
with installing it except for that multimedia viewer package, which seemed
to want to insist on installing to drive c:. There was a box there, sort of
looking like you oughta be able to select it to pick a different drive, but
it was "grayed out", and didn't work for me. Anybody have any ideas as to
how I can deal with this?
Other than that, I've been playing with the system, and exploring things.
The biggest problem I am seeing so far is the fact that I'm running it on a
386dx40 with only 8M of ram, and there seems to be a tendency for the thing
to start thrashing the HD at the slightest provocation! Slow as heck, too,
and I guess I can see why people seem to want to throw RAM at this OS, but I
can't do anything about that at this point in time unless I can find a good
deal on some 4M 30-pin parts.
Anything else I can do with this? Any particulars I could post here that
would give a clue as to what I'm dealing with?
