Hi again Cathy. Your message brought back a number of memories since I too
was at AEB in the spring and summer of 1973. I was there for a good six
months. One cannot adequately understand what can happen while there till
they experience it for themselves. Its almost like a warped version of
Alice in Wonder land. Its a world all its own. A man from Michigan proved
to them he could travel as well with a cane as he did with the dog. He was
convinced at that time he would have a better chance of landing his
overnment
position if he would send his dog back to the school where he obtained it.
I don't think he was at the center for much over a week when he gave upp
his dog. It was a nice one too! Others did not bend under the pressure. I
objected to their caste system.
I understand the director of training at that time was fired for some
impropriety. You may know who I mean.
I am a cane user myself, but I don't think dog users should have to undergo
such harassment from anyone. They bring it on themselves if they are not a
responsible dog user. I think you said it well.
Take care and stay happy!
