Hello Mike -

CA>> horsepower from a glorified garden tractor sized motor. I
CA>> seem to recall one that has no spark plug wires and I have
CA>> no idea _how_ that works but I won't mourn the loss of
CA>> those troublesome prone to failure spark plug wires.

MR> Tiny ignition modules with driver and transformer that fit
MR> right over the sparkplug like a boot. The module input is
MR> the 5 volt logic signal from the cpu and the battery power.
MR> It's the latest trend in upscale production car engines and
MR> will eventually become a stock item in every car. I think
MR> it's pretty much standard on motorcycles already. Indeed no
MR> more HV cables and much better control over ignition since
MR> each plug has its own independant coil.

My brother-in-law explained this to me while we were admiring
his new automobile's engine after I remarked that there were no
plug wires. I forgot what he told me.

My life has done a 180 degree turn and I think more about
brakes, shocks, and avoiding heavy traffic than I do about how
to increase the horsepower. Oh, and tires. :-)

Not easy to find the right tire for a car anymore. I've had
great tires (for rain etc.) the first time around and on other
cars I just can't match the tire to the car. The Lincoln won't
stop IMO. It just slides. My backup vehicle, a little Ford
Escort, stops almost too fast and will probably get hit from
behind one day.
