To avoid getting wiped out in the next few thousand years other animals will need to form symbiotic relationships with humans (or other human symbiotes). Cats and dogs aren't doing too badly on that front at the moment - though many of their utilitarian roles may get automated - and I'm not sure if the niche of big-eyed baby substiture will prove to be terribly stable in the long term. A few thousand years is a *long* time - and technology is in rapid motion. I'm not sure cats and dogs will still be recognisable distinct species after that sort of span of time has passed. -- __________ |im |yler http://timtyler.org/ tim{at}tt1lock.org Remove lock to reply. --- þ RIMEGate(tm)/RGXPost V1.14 at BBSWORLD * Info{at}bbsworld.com --- * RIMEGate(tm)V10.2áÿ* RelayNet(tm) NNTP Gateway * MoonDog BBS * RgateImp.MoonDog.BBS at 11/20/04 6:16:57 AM* Origin: MoonDog BBS, Brooklyn,NY, 718 692-2498, 1:278/230 (1:278/230) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 278/230 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
