Earnest was returning fire at Paul
about Ladies gun?
EP> I agree with the selection of .45 caliber; but first on the

If I were leaning toward a wheelgun in .45-ish I'd prolly go toward a
.44 mag, long bbl. But that would be a hunting gun, in my house, with
a .44Spl load for any secondary defensive use it might play.

Uh, since when do you need an excuse?

You've increased the number of actions a person is going to have to
perform with the SAA -- she's adept with the old Smith DA revolver on
the headboard -- point and click, as it were. As she is able with the
self-loaders lying around. This new one is going to need to be for
mainly discrete and concealed, and thus we're looking for something
smaller.
PN> CO> :-) It's no secret that I've always favored revolvers and one of
he
PN> CO> reasons is just as you stated.
PN> PN> A new compact _and_ a new Chief's Special, or whatever, ain't in the

EP> Check out the Rossi short barreled .38. Cloyce's suggestion
I'd heard, and this is in the way of "everybody knows" but it seems
prevelent, that the Rossi is less desirable than f'rinstance the
Taurus. I dunno.
I _may_ have found a Charter Bulldog in .38Spl. This is a definate
maybe, if the results are what we're expecting at the projected cost:
<$200. But it's rough, and the smith is headed out for a trip, and
we're gonna keep on looking.
EP> about older revolvers is a good idea as well; especially since
