yup, and it works too... pretty much, anyway... the technique can also be
adapted for other packages... i played with Paintshop Pro on the same
picture i did on the GIMP and had somewhat different but comparable
results...

FWIW: the red i was removing was in the eyes of a siamese cat who's eyes
glow red in broad daylight from all viewing angles...
