I went home at lunch and checked my DVD writer (it is still not in my
computer, just sitting on top). I don't have the "retail box" any more,
but this is what the DVD itself says...
The manufacture Sticker says it is:
Model DW1620.0C1
Made in Malaysia by BenQ Corp of Taiwan in SEP-2004.
The Software appears to be "G7H9" (I only know this appears to be the
software because the latest software to download is "G7M9")
The little sticker (I assume attached at the "actual" manufacture time)
says:
Model: DW1620
Part #: 99.B5C15.0C3
For all I know, this DW1620 is sold by Pacific Digital as the U-30279,
the only references I can see on Pacific Digital's web site for the
DW1620 are for the Firmware Download...
Read here about other peoples experiences with this unit..
http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_techspecs_full.php/masterid=4773708/>
I have had great results under Win2000 "burning" DVD's (both DVD-R and
DVD+R) and CD-R and "reading" the above DVD's and CD's under Win2000 and
OS/2 Warp 4.51..
I need to get OS/2 Warp 4.51 re-installed and test the Burner part of
this DVD Writer...
