ow
SM>my house. I find them on my sofa, drawers, kitchen table and walls. In the
SM>summer it is awful, yet they disappear and hibernate in the winter. It
seems
SM>though each year they come back greater in number than the previous. I
ave
SM>cat and small children so I really don't want to use anything toxic or
SM>poisonous. I am getting desparate! Please help!
Ah yes, earwigs; cockroachs with a mean streak (they can nip when
given the opportunity 8-( that also prefer darkness and dampness.
A mix of 1/3 boric acid and corn meal should also cause them to
dehydrate into another world. It is nontoxic to larger life forms,
such as cats and/or children; but I would put in the dark dank areas
under inclosed kitchen sinks, behind bath tubs, down the holes that
pipes travel through floors etc.
They may have first come in hideing the folds of fresh cut flowers,
(they love my dalhias), garden lettuce, etc.. I now drown all such
likely hideing places in a bucket of water for somewhile before bring
them into the house to prevent bring these nasties in the house.
Ciao, Ack.
