subject: Icom Batteries

-> I have an Icom 4AT that I got with bad BP8 battery pack.
-> Although
-> the BP8 produces around eight volts, some of the larger Icom
-> battery packs
-> produce around eleven volts. It is my understanding that the 4AT can
-> use these larger battery packs. Is this true and what is the maximum
-> voltage that the 4AT can handle. ---- Thanks for your help ---- Clay
  Most of ICOM and a lot of other hand helds are designed to operate
on voltages up to 14 volts(nominly the voltage of a 12 volt pack on
charge).
