Hi, Dieter.

DM> DM> Don't rush - you could also try QMS in Melbourne - I don't know
DM> DM> if they are local in Sydney though.

DM> FM> Well I sure ain't sending it to Melbourne! As you know, this fucker is
DM> FM> *heavy*.

DM> Real heavy. And I have to use a 230-110v stepdown transformer as
DM> well.

Bummer!

DM> DM> Just have a quick look yourself - make sure all the plugables
DM> DM> are reseated, and the connectors are in properly.

DM> FM> Yeah, I'll certainly do all that stuff first, probably this weekend.

DM> FM> I've done a bit, it's real interesting without a manual! :-) Word for
DM> FM> Windows allows you to send PS commands directly, which I used to write
DM> FM> my watermark thingy and a couple of other things that Word doesn't
DM> FM> allow.

DM> Postscript is a fairly generic language, you should be able to
DM> pick up a drivers manual in a library, or a good techo/computer
DM> bookshop.

Yeah, I've seen them. Never really needed/wanted to get into it so
haven't bothered buying one. For what I wanted to do it was sufficient
to have a look at some output (print to file) and figure it out from
there.

DM> FM> Checked the thumbwheel, in fact tried all the positions. I'll include
DM> FM> the comms in my w/e experimenting.

DM> Funnily enough, I've had some problems since upgrading to
DM> Win4WG, but I "updated" the printer under the Wordperfect Printer
DM> Control Menu. Maybe re-installing the windows driver may help as
DM> well.

DM> But recalling that the status page shat itself, that may well be
DM> a furphy.

Yeah, I think so.

DM> If you still have a problem, I could come over and swap your top
DM> half around with mine - at least that way we can isolate the
DM> problem a little more. Perhaps during the week.

Thanks for the offer, Dieter. Let me see what I can figure out first.

Regards, FIM.
