From: Phil Payne > I was reading about 10,000 or so demonstrators spread out among a few towns > exercising their right to promote what they want. Suddenly this 10K speaks > for 25,000,000 Iraqis and the entire process is in the dumper? I've often said you should read more carefully. It was something over 30,000 and all in one town. I love the opportunities you give me to post the facts. > Did the few thousand peaceniks demonstrating in SF, London, DC and > elsewhere suddenly change the course of events? In London alone it was about two million. I know - I was in Hyde Park, which is the best part of a square mile and it was FULL. I _will_ admit that Jesse Jackson was so boring I found a pub and watched the rugby. But have you noticed how quiet Bliar has gone? As a political ally, he might as well not be there. The USA made overtures to the UN late last week - was Bliar there supporting them? Was anbody? It was conventional wisdom that the USA had three friends left at the UN - does it have ANY now? Of course, Bliar faces a couple of political crises at home. The 28th will be inteesting - it's now been agreed that the opposition parties will have the Hutton report six hours before the debate in the House. > Did the 10K Iraqis (largely unreported by the mainstream press), > demonstrating against the terrorist attacks in Iraq last > month, suddenly bring those attacks to a halt? Get real. The mainstream press only reports things that happen. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
