you don't have to with DSL... both POTS and DSL ride on the same copper...
they're in different frequency bands and don't interfere with each other...
there is also a DSL splitter that ensures that each band is not accessible
on the other side... being fully connected is a whole new world almost like
getting a computer for the first time or starting to program the computer
and discovering the whole entire world within it...
