I latched onto a usb adapter for external hard drive, but eCS 1.1 won't
see it.
The hardware works well enough for W2k to see that a drive has been added,
although I don't seem to be able to access it - it's an older 30 gig IDE
drive that I may well have formatted/fdisked into oblivion when I removed
it from a system.
What do I need to do? Here's config.sys USB entries:
REM *** IBM USB Drivers ***
BASEDEV=USBUHCD.SYS /V
REM BASEDEV=USBOHCD.SYS /V
REM BASEDEV=USBEHCD.SYS /V
BASEDEV=USBD.SYS /V /REQ:USBUHCD$,USBOHCD$,USBEHCD$
BASEDEV=USBHID.SYS
BASEDEV=USBMSD.ADD /V /FLOPPIES:0 /REMOVABLES:3 /CDS:0 /FIXED_DISKS:2
USBRES shows nothing attached. Looking at the USBMSD doc file, it doesn't
say anything about fixed disks or the /FIXED_DISKS option. This is the
latest USB stuff (9/23/2004) from the eCS update site.
Am I in error in thinking that there's support for a USB attached hard
drive?

Just look at it this way...not matter how bad Linux can get, it's still
better than a 'stable' version of XP.
