I think I had Michelin on one car long ago and did like them.

Cycle tread design may not transfer well to automobile tires
though. Cycles need 'tread' on the sidewalls (for leaning into
turns). Cars not as much (hopefully). :-) 

I've had Dunlop which gave great traction but wore rapidly due
to soft rubber. Lately I'm using Kelly (which I think are made
by Dunlop?) but there are only six tire manufacturers in the
world last time I checked and the rest is just smoke-n-mirrors.
I have a list somewhere of which is which.
