It isn't that long ago that Guantanamo detainees were to be tried without
representation of any kind.

It is still the case that the defence representative is appointed by the
arraigning authority.

That authority has been given the thankless task of finding enough lawyers
without consciences to represent 600 people.

Their first attempt failed.  Spectacularly.  One day the USA might find
itself celebrating "Major Mori" day as a public holiday.
