| subject: | Re: [OS2HW] Updated Install Disks |
Hello
I recently got a new system and though I long ago promised myself to just
stay with an older dedicated system for OS/2 I just couldn't resist the
urge to see how OS/2 would fly on this AMD Athlon 64/MSI-K8N-Neo2 Platinum
system. Naturally it failed since I am using 2 or 3 year old install
diskettes (I'll post the error message below for any techgeeks that may
know a specific fix) and I recalled that sometime ago Daniella outlined her
best recommendation for creating new install diskettes. IIRC she said to
turn off many of the "snoopers", delete lots of files and alter
config.sys to reflect but I can't remember the exact procedure.
So can Daniella or anyone else please recommend to me what I need to do
to get a set of install diskettes that may work for this system? BTW I'm a
fairly old hand at creating new ones from the CD and reasonably handy at
modifying them as I've had to a number of times. I just need to know the
most current changes required to get going.
Thanks in advance
Jimmy
PS The error message looks like this:
