yeah, well, where were you two years ago when I needed that advice? ;)
FS> If and when the time comes when I am audited, I hope to be using
I found being audited to be an enlightening experience. I learned a lot from
the lady who did the audit, and was gratified to find that we were doing
everything right as far as the tax department was concerned, and didn't owe
them any extra. IN fact, she showed me ways to get some back at year end. I
think both of us hating MYOB got us off to a "common enemy" footing which
allowed us to avoid the adversarial approach, plu I assumed she had a lot of
tax experience which I couldn't get from books, and my attitude of wanting to
avail myself of her expertise was not the way she was used to being treated,
so she opened up like a flower in the sunshine. It was one of the most
useful days I've spent in terms of over-all gain. Being on good terms with
the tax man is rather like living peacefully in a bull paddock. It can be
done, but isn't at all comfortable.
