A public {COMMO} beta test release has been made available. The
file is called CMMO66B.ZIP. This has some fixes and enhancements
that I would like users to try. It has been extensively alpha
tested and appears to be quite stable.
This beta has improvements to the INT 14 interface and to the macro
supporting the B Plus protocol overlay. Also included are two new
built-in variables, a method to ignore the keyboard and support for
16 serial ports. See README.1ST for a complete list of changes to
beta releases.
The file is available on the following BBS's. My thanks to the
operators of these fine systems (and all others who have been
picking up the betas and posting them on their boards).
BlinkLink 412-766-0732 Pittsburgh, PA (1:129/89)
Charlie's Foxhole 517-323-3405 Lansing, MI
Demodulator 520-290-2807 Tucson, AZ
MAS BBS 718-444-4555 Brooklyn, NY
On INTERNET you can ftp the file:
Anonymous FTP ordata.com (198.68.15.1) /pub/msdos/comm/COMMO
Demodulator will automatically start a Zmodem transfer of the beta
if you log in as "Beta Test" with the password "guest".
On Charlie's Foxhole you can also get the beta quickly. Follow
instructions on the BBS opening screen.
Please report your findings (good or bad) here in this conference.
Beta releases serve two purposes. They allow me to test changes to
the program and they make bug fixes and enhancements available to
users before the next release (which may not be out for a while).
Thanks for your help!
