Tom has one and it's one of the nicer pieces in his collection. The top is
beautiful with a good matching job. Of course, he had me yank out the
5-position rotary selector switch and replace it with a McCarty style (Les
Paul style) toggle and I dropped in a pair of SD pickups ('59 neck and JB
Trembucker bridge). I was sweating bullets as I put the step-drill on the
finish to enlarge the hole. Yes, I use only the eggbeater drill on finished
guitar bodies.
The quality and playability is surprising for a bolt-on, but nothing less
than I would expect from PRS. The neck design is strange... it's a 24-fret
neck, with full access up to about the 20th or so. The neck is actually
stepped at the 24th fret, and the two screws that would be under the 20th
fret on a Strat are under the neck pickup.
C-ya! Rich
